My Sister: The Rick Magnet

daisy

The Rick Springfield concert in Wendover was last night. Before the concert, Debbie & I were sitting there, when a lady stopped by and asked us if we were there together. Yes. Would you like to sit in the 3rd row, she asked. Um, YES! So we ventured down to the cooshy seats in the 3rd row and wouldn’t you know it…Well, it happened again, folks. Kristina wasn’t sung for me but some how, Debbie managed to draw Rick Springfield right to her chair – again. What this says about Debbie, I don’ t know. But as you can see from the picture, my big sister is undoubtedly a closet groupie and party animal. Who knew?!The concert was lots of fun and for a guy pushing 60, you would never know that Rick Springfield was any older than his former self in the 80s. He looks a little older, sure but he delivers a show with as much, if not more, energy than ever before. I will say that he no longer does those high kicks he used to do – perhaps it was the altitude which he complained about a lot. It took a while for him to get used to it as was frequently out of breath. But as the show went on, he kept plugging away and ventured out to the audience several times, much to the delight of the women who freely reached for his legs and other parts – even stuffing bras into his back pockets which was absolutely hilarious. The pictures – So, my camera had a hard time with the low light. The flash wasn’t really strong enough even to reach the short distance we were from Rick so I missed several opportunities to get a good shot of his face. Can you say ARGH!? With the flash off, the colors were really good because of the stage lights but the movement blurred everything. Again, can you say ARGH!? Oh well. I got a few shots that are “OK”.  Check out the pics (click on the thumbnails to enlarge) :

  • Words fail me. I’m seeing my sister in a whole different way, one that is, frankly, kinda creepy. Are you sure this is really her?

  • Hi Jeff & Bunni!Of course that is Debbie. I took the picture! I was so stunned that I let the opportunity to touch Rick Springfield slide – AGAIN! I’m such a dummy! :-P The concert was great fun! Bunni, had I known you were such a fan, we would have had you come along!Kris
