Disneyland
No Comments Sojourn to the Mouse House
My brother and his family are heading right now into California for what could possibly be their only family trip to Disneyland. The last time they had gone, they only had a few kids and they were quite small. Some time has passed and their family size has doubled as have the prices to enter the park. Jeff is choking back the shock of having spent $1000 on tickets and as expensive as it was, the memories it will create will be priceless. Nana, Michaela and I will join them to witness it all. We leave later tonight. The arrangements have been finalized. In order to make sure that Michaela and I made it on the flight without any problems, I sucked it up and purchased the tickets. This way Mom knows we’re there and there will be no anxiety with the wondering that flying standby can cause. This morning I decided to check out last minute car rental fares and found out that the cost to rent an SUV last minute from Alamo cost the same as what I was going to pay renting a small car from Thrifty. I don’t care for renting cars from Thrifty because they always nag me about the extra insurance coverage and frankly at 10:30 at night and with a handicapped mother who just wants to go to bed, I don’t want the hassle. Alamo has online check in and it’s nice because I can just pick up the car and go. So the Thrifty rental has been cancelled and Alamo has been confirmed. We’re staying at the same hotel as Jeff and family. I anticipate the excitement factor to be high. I know we’re getting there kind late tonight but I am hoping that when we arrive there is a lot of energy abuzz at the La Quinta. It’ll be just what we need to start the day off right tomorrow morning. Now, unlike Jeff, I won’t be taking my laptop with me to chronicle the events of the next 2 days. I will leave that up to him to give the play by play. Two suitcases, a car seat, a 5 year old and a wheelchair bound mother are all my two little hands can handle (I think). So I will leave the laptop at home and the update about the Mouse House will have to come after we return.Until then, boys and girls…
