Goodbye, Henry
March 2007 – May 2008
Today we said goodbye to Henry the Hamster. We knew that his time was near – he just wasn’t looking too good lately. Michaela is doing ok although later after we buried him in the backyard next to Molly (Nana’s dog), she asked, “What is wrong with Heavenly Father? Why can’t things live longer?” How do I answer that? It is a question that I have asked, too. All I could tell her is that we never know when it is our time. We are only here for a little while and when it’s our time to go, it’s our time. That’s just how it is. We can’t fight it nor can we change it.
To be honest, I am relieved that Henry has moved on. He wasn’t doing well and at least now I can honestly say that his suffering is over. I hope where ever he is, he is happy and he’s munching on a huge carrot. Hopefully, Mike is keeping him company, too.
In honor of Henry, click here (and turn up your sound).
