Watermelons
I have never been a big watermelon eater. Give me a fruit salad and you’d watch me pick around the melons and go straight for the oranges, strawberries, apples and bananas. But for some reason this summer, I just can’t get enough watermelon! A couple weeks ago we had one with a BBQ and it look so red and juicy so I thought I’d give it a try. It was like a religious experience. Seriously. I was like, “watermelon, where have you been all my life?!” I just finished off a big plate for lunch. It was delicious. I think the key is that the watermelon needs to be chilled. We keep ours in the fridge and cut into it a little at a time. It’s like eating popcicles for your meal and I think that is why I like it so much. Because on a hot summer day, there is nothing better than a cold juicy popcicle. But really, you be eating them one after the other and not have some extra pounds to account for. The watermelon is a better choice. Yummy.Ed.
