More thoughts about the election

I’ve been watching the news and the footage of the jubilation in the streets and the crying is somewhat disturbing to me. I hope that this freak out is because it’s because racial barriers have come down and the first black man has been elected president. I think I could live with that. But if it’s because people think that he can save them and take away their problems, then the blind adulation is downright scary.I also feel really manipulated. A year ago this guy didn’t have much of a chance. And it really bothers me that he escaped the media scrutiny that was awarded people like Sarah Palin. Not only was Obama not fully vetted by the media but the media chose our candidates by skewing the information that people received. Really..how did Obama get the nomination otherwise? For that matter, how did McCain turn around an otherwise dead campaign in order to win the nomination? Not only did McCain and Huckabee team up to drag Romney (the clear front runner 10 months ago) down, but the media did what they could to assist them. If the Republicans want to make any gains in the next election, they had better not betray the conservative base that votes for them. After all, only 20% of declared conservatives actually voted for McCain.Oh well… on to more important things. GO TITANS!

The morning after…

What can be said that hasn’t already been said? Nothing. Am I surprised by the outcome of the election? No. Not at all. In a way, I am kinda relieved that McCain isn’t in there. I am also kinda relieved that there is a Democrat majority because when things start to fail then it’s on their heads. Frankly, I am all for wiping the slate clean and getting all new people in there because all those old guys that have been in there for decades really need to go. We had some guys elected to their 5th and 6th terms last night! Talk about crazy. If there are term limits for presidents then there needs to be limits for senators and congressmen. Seriously.I think what bothers me the most about Obama – other than his disdain for the Constitution and his eagerness to alter it – is the pandimonium and hype that carried him to the Oval Office. There are people out there that truly think they will not have to worry about a thing just because this man is the President. A woman came out of the polling place yesterday exclaiming that she won’t have to pay for her gas or mortgage now. I am scratching my head over that one cuz I don’t recall seeing that on the ballot. Otherwise, um, sign me up! Come and pay my mortgage, Obama! I could use some of that. Whatever. That is the scary part. Ignorant, STUPID, IDIOTIC people. They will doom us all.

Things That Make You Go Hmmm

If Obama is so far ahead in the polls, why is he feverishly criss-crossing the battleground states? Why do all the polls state different numbers?WHY does he think it’s necessary to show a 30 minute campaign commercial tonight? If he’s going to win in a landslide as so many in the media say, then why do the most latest polls have his lead slipping and he’s now leading only by 3 within the margin of error? Why has the minority and young people vote not been as big as they thought it would be?Why won’t the LA Times release the video of Obama praising an anti-Israel professor? If he’s going to win anyway, why does he have to cheat to get votes? How many of those people polled didn’t answer truthfully when asked if they’d vote for Obama because he’s black? Will the anonymity of the vote provide a clearer picture into what America is actually thinking or will America succomb to media propoganda stating that Obama has already won?

In for a rockier four years

My lack of posting lately I contribute to a couple things…(1) I’ve actually been kinda busy(2) I’ve been struck without words over the blatent stupidity of most people.Let me explain..you may sense where this is going because if you are familiar with my rants, I cannot speak of dumb people without bringing politics into the subject. So I will start with a couple of dumb people…namely the women on The View.On the surface, they may seem to know where and what they speak of. The likes of Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Bahar have a talent for biting rhetoric and wit (well, maybe not Barbara Walters…I wouldn’t call her witty). These people seem to feel strongly about the state of the world and believe that the answer to all of our problems lie within the brain that sits between the vulcan ears of man we will likely soon call President Obama. Whoopi has said some pretty idiotic stuff lately - asking John McCain if she should worry about slavery if he becomes president. That ranks right up there with Matt Damon wondering if Sarah Palin thinks dinosaurs roamed the earth 4000 years ago. It’s looney. It’s I can’t believe that just fell out their face STUPID!Fox News is reporting a new feud among the View’s women and it’s of course, between Elizabeth Hasselbeck and Joy Bahar. I give props for Hasselbeck sticking with her day job because you’ve gotta have a backbone of titanium to hang out with the other hosts of that show. She is the only conservative in the group of 5 women – far outnumbered and should the Fairness Doctrine really come back, we’ll have to start a campaign to insist that they throw Bahar out on her butt and bring in Ann Coulter to even things up a little. In watching the bantering back and forth between Bahar and anyone who disagrees with her, my assessment is this… she is a bitter hag who can dish it but not take it. There must be some deep rooted angst her her past or some sort of trauma that gets her to behave the way that she does. Because saying what she says and how she says it doesn’t make her smart. It just makes her mean. She’s precisely the type of person that I would counsel my daughter to stay away from. Because it’s true what they say, with friends like that, who needs enemies? So the beat of the liberal drum seems to be getting louder. We have a week left until D-Day and I am eager for it to be over. I am not looking forward to the upcoming administration for a variety of reasons but mainly because I can see the liberties we have in this great country slipping away. My reaction isn’t unique. I am not the only one saying these things but it’s not resonating. There is a whole population out there who believes they’re entitled – that they deserve something for nothing. And I can guarantee that they will get NOTHING. Spreading the wealth doesn’t mean that Barack Obama will be Robin Hood. He’s not going to take from the rich and GIVE it to the poor. No. He intends to rob the successful and those he deems not worthy of their bounty and bring them down to a level that equals the have nots. And guess what, the have nots will STILL be without! He promote ideas and policies that in the name of justice and equality will put the management of our lives in the hands of the government and eliminate our free will. So, what is one to do? The people on TV say we’re going to elect this guy. Many of us realize what’s at stake and feel powerless to stop it. The key is to not fall prey to their promises. It’s called minding our P’s and Q’s because the day will come that someone will have to pick up the pieces and it will be the people who can remember how to do it on their own that will be called upon to do it. Geez…it’s been a rough year already…I’m not looking forward to the next four…

The Final Debate

This picture says it all.

This thing still could go either way but to just be safe, Obama has purchased primetime slots on all the major networks to air a 30 minute commercial to try and convince the rest of us that he’s not the monster we all know him to be. In doing this, the start of the World Series is being pushed back to accomodate the Senator. Wanna know what comes next? STATE TELEVISION. Just you wait.

The Magic Kingdom is Beckoning

We have another week before we travel to Anaheim and I couldn’t be more anxious to get there. I asked Michaela this morning if she wanted to run away with me.She said, “No. I like it here.”DANG.”Where would we go?” She asked.”I was thinking we could just go to Disneyland forever.”"MOVE there!?”"Sure.”"But they don’t have toys there.”Um, WHAT!? Girl needs to work on her priorities. Disneyland is a toy mecca in my opinion. But alas, I told her that we’d stay here and just live with our frequent visits to the Mouse House instead. I don’t know why I am so eager to go. Michaela and I were just there in August. So it’s not like we haven’t been for a long time. I think it’s just things have reached their breaking point. I am about as fed up with this election as I can get. I know I do this to myself every election but this one really has me on edge. I can’t believe I am saying this but I actually miss the Clintons. I am still holding out hope they do SOMETHING before November 4 that will blow Obama out of the water so Hilary can make her come back in 4 years. I would much rather bash on her than have to deal with Obama’s socialist garbage. The man is scary. He is truly a frightening individual with such horrible opinions about our country. It’s true what moms say, you are who your friends are. If you look at who your closest friends are and who you align yourself with, it pretty much shapes your opinion of the world and how you treat other people. Obama will not answer a question directly. He holds his nose up in the air and looks down on people when he talks and he says he has all the answers but he won’t say what they are. I’ll just say it..He’s a freakin’ lunatic and dang it, I want the Clintons back. At least with them all we have to worry about is an occasional woman getting sexually harassed and a death or two under mysterious circumstances. I can deal with that. I just can’t fathom the idea of what this world would be like if the likes of Barry Obama takes over. **Shudder**So, I want to escape to the Magic Kingdom. At least in that world, politics seems to disappear. Not to mention all the other garbage gets checked at the gate….unemployment, boredom…widowhood :-( Anyway, it can’t get here fast enough! I think everyone except Grandad is excited about it. Poor Grandad. He’s so over the Disneyland thing… but we got him to tag along and hopefully he’ll find some joy there. Me on the other hand, plan to have a fabulous time!
