Design & Marketing
To see a showcase of my professional abilities in web design, graphic design and marketing, please visit killerwebs.com.You are currently on my personal website – a blog that I am keeping to chronicle things going on in my life. I have been designing websites since 1995. Back then I didn’t even know what a website was when I was approached by the Prodigy Network to build and maintain their country music community. They assured me that I didn’t need to know a thing and in my pajamas, I started probably my coolest job in my life. They paid me way too much money to do what they asked me to do and it was a dream job.
But… what they didn’t tell me was that I would start to really like building websites and that I wanted my sites to look cool – not cookie cutter which is what their template driven program created. I taught myself to code by hand and the rest is history. I have always had a love for design. My favorite part of journalism class in high school was working on the layout of the paper – not writing the story. I have always liked photography and wished I could be better at it, too. Having managed a photo lab, I know about color and exposure. When I moved to Nashville in 1996, I worked on Music Row with a publicist where I managed her Nashville office writing press releases, working with media and trying to keep the “talent” happy. That last part wasn’t much fun…Somehow all of these tidbits of experience has grown into a career.
