Moments: Life Captured
With the acquisition of my camera, I have taken up photography as a hobby. I am by no means an expert but I love to capture moments in pictures. I wish that I were better at the candids because it always seems like I am this close to catching the perfect moment. Sometimes, I get lucky. My dad tells me that in order to catch the right moment, you have to be taking pictures like a madman. Keep snapping away and don’t wait for the moment to present itself. Sometimes it shows up later. I’m working on that.
Below are samples of photos that I have taken as a observer of a moment. Either something was happening that needed to be photographed or the light on the subject just made it scream out “take my picture.” I love natural light and the contrast that shadows give to a picture. The picture may not always be in focus but the true life color is undeniable.
Disney World 2009
With over 700 pictures to choose from, these are some of the best. I am sure that I have missed some and as I find them, I will add them to the gallery. In the meantime, this is our trip in pictures!
What a Beautiful World
I just bought a polarizer filter for my camera. It took some trial and error to get the thing to work the way I wanted but I am still not satisfied with the results. I am not sure if it’s the filter itself or if I am just not using it to its full potential. I guess practice makes perfect and that is what I am intending to do. The scenic gallery will evolve over time. It will feature the wonders of our great planet – mostly those found in the good ol’ US of A because I probably won’t get out of the country much.

That’s great Kris! You’ve passed the quarter mark and are well on your way. Be grateful you are in your thirty-somethings and are getting it off. Every decade you wait, it really gets more and more difficult. The body changes so much. I’ve also discovered how resilient it is. It can heal in a matter of 6 months to a year with all the abuse we put it through.
I heard a comment the other day . . . “Our mouths are really stupid, they open up and eat anything we give them.”
Most of the time we have to run from our temptations. It’s been fun learning what foods actually do to our cells, and the greater adventure is trying to stay away from them just because they are so loaded with chemicals and fat. Amazing.
I applaud your success!!! It’s fun checking in every once in awhile. I think many of us are on this journey for the last dog on time. Jan. 30 was my start date and I’m feeling really great too! I’m sure you are motivating thousands! Keep up the good work!
Congratulations! Mind set, yes! Aunt Flo calling . . . that’s always a challenge when trying to lose weight and with the chocolate beckoning. I don’t know one single gal in my circle who doesn’t feel the same. We’ve found a raw cocao powder that is sun dried and we make our shakes without the excess refined sugar or added butter fat to take care of that craving. It’s been really great! As far as calories go, with the Coconut chips, dates, and raw agave added in for sweetness . . . well, I don’t know but it sure tastes great! Hee Hee Hee.
Congratulations! Great job!!!
