More About Me...

Hi there! I am a mother, widow, web designer, graphics designer and amatuer photographer who is just roaming this earth seeking joy. To learn to live with yourself, you must laugh AT yourself.

Say, WUT?!

Okay, so this is my confession... I am a HUGE Rick Springfield fan! On July 2, 1982 my older sister took me to my first rock concert. I was 10. That night was a game-changer. So this site design is an ode to my Rick fixation.

Idol: Justice Prevails

He may not have been my first choice for the Idol title this year but Kris Allen was one of my favorites to go far on Idol. I am thrilled that he won. Yay! This year, more than any other, the onslaught of Adam has been too much to bear. From the judges over hyping him, to the magazine covers, to never criticizing the bum notes (yeah, there were some)…it was just a lopsided competition and to see Kris come from behind and take it is sweet victory. Good for him!I must say that this year’s finale was better than I anticipated. I wasn’t looking forward to watching it because it just seemed like Adam had it in the bag. It just seemed like Kris had no chance. I really had no faith in him pulling it out but I guess I underestimated the voting public. Who knew?! Anyway, the show was actually enjoyable. I loved seeing Norman Gentle again. And the sing off between Kara and Bikini Girl was priceless although a little scary…I thought those things were going to be unleashed in a big way. Yikes. Adam Lambert singing with Kiss was AWESOME. I loved that. If he does rock, he’s gotta do the glam thing like that or better yet, get with Queen! They’ve needed a lead singer for a long time. He would do really well. Anyway, good show! It ended up not being as disgusting as I anticipated. And that is always a pleasant surprise.

&@*(!#?!*!#!

Last night my almost 7 year old niece asked, “Hey, Kris…did you watch American Idol last week?”"Yes.”"Yeah. I read your blog.”Uh oh. I could tell by just how she said it that she had read my rant about Megan. Even my own daughter (who is her age) doesn’t read my blog and it never occurred to me that Emma would. I instantly felt bad because I knew that I hadn’t held back when it came to my distaste for Megan and her singing. Frankly, I was saying what I wish the judges would say. The only one who comes close is Simon. The others are so politically correct, that it’s irritating. I just wish that they would have an average Joe be a judge – someone who will say “WHAT are you doing on this show? Are you SERIOUSLY thinking that you could ever make it as a singer? C’mon!!!” So, I am here to first say, I AM SORRY. I’m sorry, Emma that you had to read such foul things from your aunt. I should be a better example. And hopefully when you and your family join us for our Idol party tomorrow, I will be on my best behavior. Secondly, I have cleaned up my post about Megan. Sort of… Well, what can I say? It’s already been out there about a week now…what’s said is said!
