And we should trust him becuuuuuuz?

The latest from the Obama administration is their attempt to sell national health care. Yesterday, Obama spoke to the American Medical Association to try to persuade doctors to sign on. He offered up his version of the truth but gave no facts to support his position. He said that in some countries, a single payer system works but he neglected to name one country where it supposedly works and how. In fact, the only thing that the AMA seemed to be happy about after his speech was his claim that he would make it more difficult for people to sue doctors. While I agree that malpractice lawsuits have become frivolous, he offered nothing to support his claims. Now in an effort to sell his idea of socialized medicine, Obama will take to the airwaves by taking over programming at ABC:

On the night of June 24, the media and government become one, when ABC turns its programming over to President Obama and White House officials to push government run health care — a move that has ignited an ethical firestorm!Highlights on the agenda:ABCNEWS anchor Charlie Gibson will deliver WORLD NEWS from the Blue Room of the White House. The network plans a primetime special — ‘Prescription for America’ — originating from the East Room, exclude opposing voices on the debate.MORELate Monday night, Republican National Committee Chief of Staff Ken McKay fired off a complaint to the head of ABCNEWS:Dear Mr. Westin:As the national debate on health care reform intensifies, I am deeply concerned and disappointed with ABC’s astonishing decision to exclude opposing voices on this critical issue on June 24, 2009. Next Wednesday, ABC News will air a primetime health care reform “town hall” at the White House with President Barack Obama. In addition, according to an ABC News report, GOOD MORNING AMERICA, WORLD NEWS, NIGHTLINE and ABC’s web news “will all feature special programming on the president’s health care agenda.” This does not include the promotion, over the next 9 days, the president’s health care agenda will receive on ABC News programming.Today, the Republican National Committee requested an opportunity to add our Party’s views to those of the President’s to ensure that all sides of the health care reform debate are presented. Our request was rejected. I believe that the President should have the ability to speak directly to the America people. However, I find it outrageous that ABC would prohibit our Party’s opposing thoughts and ideas from this national debate, which affects millions of ABC viewers. In the absence of opposition, I am concerned this event will become a glorified infomercial to promote the Democrat agenda. If that is the case, this primetime infomercial should be paid for out of the DNC coffers. President Obama does not hold a monopoly on health care reform ideas or on free airtime. The President has stated time and time again that he wants a bipartisan debate. Therefore, the Republican Party should be included in this primetime event, or the DNC should pay for your airtime.Respectfully,Ken McKayRepublican National CommitteeChief of Staff

Let’s pretend shall we that this was “the other side” doing this. How happy would the liberals be if the Republicans took over airtime – at no charge to them – to propagandize their ideas? There would be no opposing view- not one Pro vs. Con list. I mean, isn’t that what an honest debate is about? Could this be the start of state run television? I mean, in the past 6 months since Obama took office we have state owned banks, state owned car companies and now we have full television networks shutting down regular programming so the President can pitch his idea. And I am supposed to accept this becuuuuuuz? And this is okay becuuuuuuuz? The next thing we know they’ll be cementing over the reflection pond in the Capital Mall to give our troops a place to practice their goosestepping! So before you tell me to get a grip and that I am overreacting, all I can say in response is when will it be okay to overreact? When will it be okay to start questioning what’s going on in Washington? Do we wait until it’s illegal for me to post my opinion on my own website? Do we wait until we are no longer free to decide if we want health care or not? Why do I feel like Obama has us bent over the resolute desk or that the liberals are waterboarding us with their agenda? Because THEY ARE. And it should be stopped before it’s too late and all of our liberties are gone.

Weary of the World Around Me

I am intolerant. There. I said it. I currently have a running list of dislikes and I must be vocal about it because my 6 year old is keeping track. The other day I was behind a big truck while I was in my cute little Mini Cooper – the Mickey Mobile. “Ugh!” I exclaimed. “I hate driving behind big trucks!” Then a little voice came from the back seat.”So, you hate bad drivers, brussel sprouts AND big trucks, Mom?” The voice said.I’m afraid my list doesn’t end there. I don’t like socialist liberals. I don’t like stupid people. And I especially don’t like MEAN PEOPLE. And it seems like they’re coming out of the wood work these days. Take this guy:

It’s been quite the week in Idol’s world since the long delayed – but delicious – departure of Season 8s albatross, and while I appreciate the countless e-mails and comments requesting my recap of the elimination of Gokey, I was too busy dancing in the streets as late as Saturday.  Okay, not really, but the unmitigated joy I felt was palpable.  My feelings for Gokey haven’t exactly been hidden under any type of cloak.  My disgust of the monumental pimping, his staggering pomposity, his early – then resurrected – use of his dead wife-as-sympathy, and Christian America’s impressive drive to keep ascend him to the top, was clearly on display for you dear readers.  - AI Report Card

Yeah. Okay. I get it. You don’t like Gokey. But sheesh. I could read the rest of his crap website but then I’d end up going out and setting fire to little kittens. Something tells me that he’s not only mean and stupid but he’s probably a brussel sprout eating liberal socialist who drives a really big truck and drives it VERY poorly. So, what’s my point? Well, it just seems like people just can’t be nice. So many are so quick to tear someone else down. Does it make them feel better to do so? Take Perez Hilton… this guy makes his living – probably an obscene one at that – blogging about celebrities, current events, etc. He draws male genitalia on nearly every photo he posts. He calls people names. He’s vicious. If your views aren’t the same as his, he makes it his life goal to make you a social outcast. Yes. He’s the genius who asked Miss California that question about gay marriage. Was the question relevant? Maybe. It’s a hot social topic. She gave her opinion which Hilton clearly disagreed with. The next thing we know he’s out saying crap about her, calling her the b-word and calling for her head on a chopping block. Whoa. Hang on their big fella. You asked a question. She answered. Move on. But he can’t and he won’t until she’s either stripped of her crown or in some asylum on suicide watch. I guess I am just annoyed. I am annoyed at other people’s agenda being forced as my agenda. I’m weary of seeing our government start to take over and own businesses. It wasn’t long ago that I could, of my own free will go buy a black car that gets 20 MPG. Now they’re saying in California, they want to ban black cars and just yesterday our  wonderful president wants cars – all of them – to get over 35 MPG. And we wonder why the car industry is failing? The government is going to own all of this and does anybody care? They want the car industry. They want healthcare. And it’s not because it will help us – WE THE PEOPLE. It’s because it will give them control. Our free will is being taken from us. We can’t buy whatever car we like. We can only see certain doctors. We have to accept marriage can occur between whoever – and yeah, that’s coming…gay marriage first… polygamy next… animals…inanimate objects after that… and soon, churches will be forced by law to allow these marriages to occur. At what point does it stop? At what point will we stand up to the loss of our liberty and say ENOUGH?! This post can easily jump around to different things because everything seems to be at odds. There is no cohesion. There’s no unity. I almost feel like I’ve been walking around with blinders on and now I am seeing the world for what it is – cruel.  Well, the blinders may be off, but it doesn’t mean I have to look at the ugliness out there. And despite it all, I still hope that humanity prevails and that compassion becomes a priority. I can’t control that which I have no control over so I needn’t try. But it would be nice if those who profit from their cruelty and lack of compassion would be seen for who they really are. Hopefully nice can make a comeback.

In for a rockier four years

My lack of posting lately I contribute to a couple things…(1) I’ve actually been kinda busy(2) I’ve been struck without words over the blatent stupidity of most people.Let me explain..you may sense where this is going because if you are familiar with my rants, I cannot speak of dumb people without bringing politics into the subject. So I will start with a couple of dumb people…namely the women on The View.On the surface, they may seem to know where and what they speak of. The likes of Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Bahar have a talent for biting rhetoric and wit (well, maybe not Barbara Walters…I wouldn’t call her witty). These people seem to feel strongly about the state of the world and believe that the answer to all of our problems lie within the brain that sits between the vulcan ears of man we will likely soon call President Obama. Whoopi has said some pretty idiotic stuff lately - asking John McCain if she should worry about slavery if he becomes president. That ranks right up there with Matt Damon wondering if Sarah Palin thinks dinosaurs roamed the earth 4000 years ago. It’s looney. It’s I can’t believe that just fell out their face STUPID!Fox News is reporting a new feud among the View’s women and it’s of course, between Elizabeth Hasselbeck and Joy Bahar. I give props for Hasselbeck sticking with her day job because you’ve gotta have a backbone of titanium to hang out with the other hosts of that show. She is the only conservative in the group of 5 women – far outnumbered and should the Fairness Doctrine really come back, we’ll have to start a campaign to insist that they throw Bahar out on her butt and bring in Ann Coulter to even things up a little. In watching the bantering back and forth between Bahar and anyone who disagrees with her, my assessment is this… she is a bitter hag who can dish it but not take it. There must be some deep rooted angst her her past or some sort of trauma that gets her to behave the way that she does. Because saying what she says and how she says it doesn’t make her smart. It just makes her mean. She’s precisely the type of person that I would counsel my daughter to stay away from. Because it’s true what they say, with friends like that, who needs enemies? So the beat of the liberal drum seems to be getting louder. We have a week left until D-Day and I am eager for it to be over. I am not looking forward to the upcoming administration for a variety of reasons but mainly because I can see the liberties we have in this great country slipping away. My reaction isn’t unique. I am not the only one saying these things but it’s not resonating. There is a whole population out there who believes they’re entitled – that they deserve something for nothing. And I can guarantee that they will get NOTHING. Spreading the wealth doesn’t mean that Barack Obama will be Robin Hood. He’s not going to take from the rich and GIVE it to the poor. No. He intends to rob the successful and those he deems not worthy of their bounty and bring them down to a level that equals the have nots. And guess what, the have nots will STILL be without! He promote ideas and policies that in the name of justice and equality will put the management of our lives in the hands of the government and eliminate our free will. So, what is one to do? The people on TV say we’re going to elect this guy. Many of us realize what’s at stake and feel powerless to stop it. The key is to not fall prey to their promises. It’s called minding our P’s and Q’s because the day will come that someone will have to pick up the pieces and it will be the people who can remember how to do it on their own that will be called upon to do it. Geez…it’s been a rough year already…I’m not looking forward to the next four…
